Postcards can produce all kinds of sales activity for all
types of businesses. For example, they can produce web site
traffic for online marketers, floor traffic for retail

Designing an effective postcard is not complicated. It can
be as simple as printing your best small ad on a 4 x 6 card

Forums will show you exactly what your target market is unhappy about and the problems they have. Lurk around forums. LISTEN. Forget about YOUR problems and listen to other people's problems. Solve those problems. I guarantee you'll become rich. Zig Ziglar said, the way to achieve success is to help others get what they want.

#6. Expired Domains Do More Than Expire
You can always use expired domain names as a great source of traffic. Search the expired domain databases, look on EBay. Some web hosts now allow multiple domains to park on a single account. Take advantage of that.

#7. Transform Words into Traffic
Articles are the best "Traffic Machines" that work for ANYONE- no matter what product, service, or information they're selling.
You get 100% targeted traffic, FREE! And, they position you as an expert, and improve your link popularity. Plus, articles are really easy to write as well.

Why You Should Choose an Accredited Online Degree

An accredited online degree is a college degree that is received through Internet studies offered by an accredited college. This means that the school or university that is offering the degree has been approved by a national or state board of education.

In order to offer an accredited online degree a college must offer its course work and lesson requirements to the board of education for approval. The board will then go through that course work and make sure that it adheres to the industry standards for completion.

When contemplating completing any type of degree over the Internet it is best to do so with an accredited online degree provider. Accredited degrees are more reputable and the credits transfer to other schools should you ever decide to further your education again.

FROM 'FANZINE' TO 'EZINE' - A BRIEF HISTORY OF EZINES!

Maybe it shouldn't come as a big surprise, but most people out there don't actually know what we mean when we casually utter the word 'EZine'.

So let's cut to the chase....An EZine is in fact an Electronically delivered Newsletter. And that means that it is usually delivered by Email.

Phew! That was sure simple!

But if understanding EZines is straightforward enough, then appreciating the origin of the word EZine is anything but a piece of cake!


SO WHERE WAS THE TERM 'EZINE' BORN?

Well the most popular school of thought is that 'EZine' is in fact short for the words 'Electronic' and 'magaZINE'. Put them together and you get 'EZine'.

Yet although this has become the almost universally accepted explanation, it probably ISN'T actually true!

For one thing we've just explained that an EZine is an Electronic Newsletter, NOT an Electronic Magazine. And of course the 'Z' that comes from the word 'magaZine, doesn't even exist in the word 'NEWSLETTER'.

So the reality is that there must have been another explanation for the creation of this new word in our dictionary. Here's a rival theory:


WAY BACK IN TIME CAME THE HUMBLE 'FANZINE':

A fanzine was a publication with a small number of subscribers - (perhaps from 5 - 1,000). Fanzines were targeted publications geared towards specific interests like: SciFi, Fantasy and Football clubs. They were frequently run by committed supporters and the small-time, close knit style of the fans would often contribute to a cult like status for their printed publications.

Those printed publications were called 'FanZines', but were frequently referred to as 'Zines' instead.


MOST EZINES ARE BASED AROUND SPECIFIC INTEREST GROUPS

Back to the modern day and most EZines are based around specific interest groups, just like the Zines once were.

Adding an 'E' on the beginning brings us to the word EZine and this offers us a much more logical explanation for the creation of this new word in the English language.


EZINES ARE MORE ABOUT PROFIT THAN FANZINES EVER WERE

The proliferation in the number of EZines has been dramatic. My best estimate, based on researching and counting directories of EZines, is that there are now in excess of 500,000 different EZine titles out there.

And the reason for the variety of EZines is blindingly obvious: "It's inexpensive to become an EZine editor and publisher".

Having said that it's cheap to get into the market of publishing EZines, most people underestimate the immense amount of effort involved in publishing on a weekly, monthly or on occasion daily basis. EZines can be hard work to produce at high quality - all the time.

And my research has revealed that the purpose of EZines has shifted too.

Whereas EZines were originally published in the FanZine tradition (enthusiasts writing about a subject they love), nowadays most EZines are published for PROFIT.


SAVVY EDITORS KNOW THERE'S MONEY TO BE MADE

You see people have realized that an Opt-In EZine publication can not only pay for itself, but it can also generate very significant levels of income for their owners through the promotion of online products and services in particular. Savvy editors know that their personal endorsement for a third-party product can net a rich return from a loyal EZine readership.

So whilst the origin of the word EZine may still be shrouded in mystery, the current day purpose of many EZines isn't. And the best EZines of all provide rich content to their readership and a welcome source of income to their owners.

Everyone knows that email filtering has gone into overdrive
- and for a good reason.

With so much späm flying about, it would be virtually
impossible to make use of this modern communication medium,
without a few sensible filtering systems in place.

But unfortunately, this desirable quest to end the deluge
of unwanted email has had a very nasty side-effect for Ezine
Editors and Online Marketers everywhere. Now even legitimate
email is getting caught in the filter trap.

So whereas in the past, an Ezine Editor could write what
they liked without worrying too much about style and tone,
now they'll have to have close regard for the language and
punctuation used throughout. Otherwise their Ezine simply
won't get delivered.

With every problem comes a silver lining, and it's no
different with email filters and the CAN-SPAM legislation.

While it is certainly true that as an Ezine Editor you'll
have to work harder than ever to ensure that your email
reaches its intended recipient, the rewards for achieving
your target reader are actually higher than ever.

That's because with so many other newsletters getting
automatically deleted prior to them even reaching the

How To Write A Newsletter Without Doing ALL The Hard Work!

Newsletters have become an increasingly popular way to
communicate and it isn’t hard to see why.

Back in the days when printing was the only method of publishing
a newsletter, the rules were different.

The production costs (print & distribution) were high and this
excluded many people from producing their own newsletters.

But with the Internet and Email, the rules have completely
changed...

Nowadays newsletters are incredibly cheap to produce and
distribute over the Net. This fact has led to an explosion in
the number of titles. And whilst it’s impossible to know
precisely, one recent credible estimate said that there are
between 3 and 400,000 newsletter titles published on the web
and via email each month!

OBSCURE INTEREST GROUPS NOW HAVE THEIR OWN NEWSLETTERS
The ultra low cost of producing a newsletter, combined with
the global nature of the Internet, has meant that any band
of people with an obscure minority interest can now viably
publish their own newsletter.

Hence most Internet newsletters have a distribution of less
than a thousand and many have memberships in the low
hundreds or less.

THOUSANDS OF NEW NEWSLETTER EDITORS
But the explosion in newsletter titles has led to a whole
band of first-time newsletter editors.

Many of them are home based. Nearly all of them
under-resourced for the writing task ahead.

So here’s one useful tip that during my lengthy newsletter
editing career, I’ve used successfully many hundreds of times.
I call it:

"How To Write A Newsletter Without Doing ALL The Hard Work"

One of the greatest challenges for any newsletter editor is not
as the job title suggests 'editing', but finding or producing the
content.
Some people view newsletter editors in the same light as magazine
editors. Nice comparison shame it just isn't true!

You see a magazine editor probably has a sub-editor, a
photographer, a picture editor and a number of reporters or
feature writers. They probably still complain that they are badly
under-resourced. But they are not compared with you of course.

So you've got to learn a few shortcuts! Here's one to start with:

CONDUCT AN INTERVIEW AND TAPE IT.
Get hold of a key member of staff, head of the sailing club,
whoever is appropriate to your newsletter. Tell them that you
know that there's an audience out there who would just love to
hear about his/her views and that you're coming down to do an
interview (this can be done over the phone if need be).

Now set your Voice Recorder, Answering Machine or Dictaphone
running and ask the key questions you know your readership is
waiting to hear the answers to.

Remember to ask the open ended questions. Those are the ones
starting with; who, what, why, when, where and how.

Remember you want to keep the content as interesting as
possible. And there’s nothing more interesting to the reader
than hearing about something that answers a problem that they
have. So keep the interview rich in problem solving and
benefits and you can’t go far wrong.

When you've finished the interview off you go with say 20-30
minutes of recording and your job is simply to play it back
and write it out, editing as you go.

you're greeted with a fanfare of flashy graphics and audio.

The creator intended for you to be impressed, perhaps even
blown- away. But in reality, you're a little annoyed not to
be able to access the information you sought quickly and
easily.

Worse is to come, as your computer suddenly insists that
you download the latest flash accessory, and that's just
to get past the intro page...

... oh boy - you've had enough and with a click of your
mouse, you're outta there!


EXPENSIVE WEBSITE - LOWSY VISITOR CONVERSION!

Let's be honest, there's really no point in spending a
fortune building an all singing - all dancing website, if
your real objective is to sell a product or service online.

What you need to do is work out a way of developing a
site which is so compelling that your visitor simply can't
leave, without grabbing their credit card and giving you
their order - there and then.


CAN A WEBSITE REALLY SELL YOUR PRODUCT OR SERVICE?

You bet. Actually a well written, yet very basically
presented website can easily outsell all those flashy
expensive sites that you click-away from faster than you
can say Jack Robinson.

There are many secrets to successfully selling right of
your web page, but these 4 pointers are, I believe, the
most crucial lessons to take onboard.

1. Use one long web page, rather than multiple pages.

2. Don't provide external hyperlinks. They just allow folks
to click away from your site.

3. Remember to ask for the order. Too many websites fall at
the last hurdle. The prospect is warmed up and then the
website writer fails to close the deal.

4. Great copy sells and it'll be worth your time and effort
to learn how to create it!

Yesterday was one of the days I sat down at my computere, knowing that I had a lot to do:

--Check on my e-mails and answer them
--Look after new sign-ups in my affiliate programs
--Continue writing my newsletters

etc.

...let me just tell you that yesterday was not productive for me. I was distracted and did not set myself a clear goal what I wanted to accomplish. And it's ok; nobody is perfect. I let it go...

If you're involved in an internet marketing business, then
you've probably already come face-to-face with your #1
enemy - "Time Wasting".

What you need to know is that "Time Is Money". And this
applies even more to the online world, than in regular
business.

You see, anyone can become an online entrepreneur. It
doesn't involve start-up capital or expensive equipment to
start. A low grade PC and a net connection is all you need.

And since cash isn't really a barrier, time-management has
become all the more critical. Your challenge for success is
simply to get more done - in less time.

So what are the greatest online time wasters and what can
you do to avoid them?

1. Retyping the same old thing time and time again.
2. Failing to manage your email effectively.
3. Getting sucked into pointless forum discussions.
4. Failing to set a goal, before you switch the computer on.

This sounds simple. But stop and think how many times you
retype the same old simple information.

Most people have cottoned on to automating their email
signature, but you can go far beyond that when it comes to
communicating words quickly.

Get yourself a clickboard or shortcut extender. This will
enable you to write much faster and prevent you from ever
having to type the same thing twice.

Failing to manage your email effectively.

I know, there's so much spam flying around, but you should
be attempting to win this war with a few weapons of your
own installed on your computer.

i. Make sure you have a working piece of anti-spam software
set up. Whilst sometimes the wrong messages will get
trapped, the best software will still remove 98% of the
emails that you don't want. Make sure they are filtered
into a junk email file, so you can manually sift
through them afterwards and pull back any that have
been incorrectly assumed to be unwanted.

ii. Set up folders in your inbox and get yourself properly
organized. I keep a folder for SALES, another one for
FEEDBACK and others for JOINT VENTURES + many more.


Getting sucked into pointless forum discussions.

As someone who owns the fastest growing internet marketing
forum, I can tell you the truth.

Forums can be incredible marketing resources, but they can
also crucify huge amounts of your time by sucking you into
discussions that you just don't need to have.

So structure your time and include some forum reading and
posting - but avoid spending wasted hours in protracted
debates with people who are never going to buy from you
anyway.

Better still sign yourself up to a good weekly forum
roundup and that way you can keep yourself up-to-date, but
without checking in every minute of the day. My own 'How To'

Failing to set a goal, before you switch the computer on.

It's so easy to sit down, decide you'll take a quick look at
some website, only to enter a mini-time warp. Three hours
later you look up and discover you've yet to do a thing.

and you've got to be resolute in your desire to beat off
the temptation to click all those enticing links.

I avoid this problem by proactively thinking about what I
plan to achieve each day... before I even sit down at my PC.

Remember, by the time you've turned on your monitor... it's
already too late!

1. UNLIMITED FREE VISITORS TO YOUR WEBSITE TODAY
People earn credits by visiting your website. These
services do work and you'll get thousands of visitors. But
will the visitors actually buy at your site? Nope!

They're at your site for the same reason that you visited
theirs, to earn them a credit. They are not interested in
your product and since their presence screws up your ability
to monitor a reliable Visitor-to-Sales ratio, you're better
off without them.


2. CREDITS TO READ EMAIL WITH ADS
You earn credits to read emails containing ads, verify that
you've opened (though not read of course) the email by
clicking on a link. The service works and you'll get your
ads sent out within emails to thousands. But no one is
really interested in your ads and you’ll have to keep
receiving and opening entirely unproductive emails. The
result is a complete waste of your VALUABLE online time.


3. POSTING TO FREE FOR ALLs (FFAs)
It's easy to do, will create a ton of email back to you and
will generally be ignored by everyone. Don’t bother, unless
you enjoy wasting your time.


4. ANY PROGRAM WHICH MENTIONS FORCED MATRIX
Upline...Downline. These programs come and go faster than
the seasons and, unless you happen to start them, you're
unlikely to make any money. Even if you did it would be a
temporary income, as these programs soon burn out. Spend
your time doing something which builds you an online
business future!



TIPS FOR BUILDING YOUR SUCCESSFUL ONLINE BUSINESS

1. Don't fall for anything which is too easy to be true
(examples above).

2. Understand that the laws of business have NOT been
re-written by internet marketers - you've still got
to work hard and smart.

3. Maximize your online time. Don't get sidetracked into
ANY timewasters.

4. Be original. Usually that means developing your own
products so you control both supply and distribution.

choice. If your publication comes across as faceless and

own Ezine or Newsletter. So where are savvy marketers
looking to gain their next competitive edge?

Almost overnight discussion forums have become an essential
weapon in the armory of every successful online marketer.

And that's no surprise when you consider that some of the
big marketing forums are now attracting 4 million page
visits per month.

Just before Christmas I set up my own forum and within a
matter of weeks was receiving thousands of visitors per
day.


BUT HOW DO FORUM VISITORS EQUATE TO PROFITS FOR YOU?

Okay I hear you say... so forums can drive a massive amount

internet marketing?

Actually in pretty much the same way as owning a credible

SO WHAT ARE THE DOWNSIDES TO RUNNING YOUR OWN FORUM?

Well you'll need to devote a certain amount of time to
monitoring the posts and ensuring that SPAM isn't turning
up on your forum. Naturally it will, so you'll need to
delete it. Ignore your discussion board and you'll quickly
discover that it has been filled with worthless JUNK posts
and this will immediately devalue the board.


Newsgroups have been around since before the dawn of the
internet - so you may well be asking yourself: "Why are
they really *hot* now?"

Traditional Newsgroups used to require special software to
access and even though they have been popularized through
Google, they're gradually losing their importance.

At the same time anyone who can set up a website can now
set up their own forum - so they're here to stay and
naturally "switched-on" internet marketers are taking full
advantage.

WHY "OPT-IN" IS REALLY THE *ONLY* GAME IN TOWN!

So what’s all this fuss we keep hearing about "Opt-In" email
then?

Well to put it simply, unlike "Junk or Spam" email, "Opt-In"
means you’ve explicitly received the recipient’s permission to
send them your message. In other words your readers have
specifically signed themselves up to your publication, and the
difference can be like dynamite!


SINGLE AND DOUBLE "OPT-IN"

You may have come across these terms. So let’s clear them up once and for all.

Single "Opt-In" means that you invited someone to join your list, they provided their email address and opted themselves in to receiving your mailings.

Double "Opt-In" means that the same thing happened, and they
signed themselves up to your list, but then - just to make sure
they really meant it - they had to confirm their subscription by
clicking *Reply* to a confirmation email you sent them or by
clicking a web link to confirm their subscription.


SO WHICH IS BETTER? SINGLE OR DOUBLE "OPT-IN"

Well a Double "Opt-In" subscriber list is considered to be made
up of higher quality prospects.

Why?

Because by emailing the contact to ask if they definitely want
to receive your Ezine, you’re performing three important tasks:


DOUBLE "OPT-IN"

*1* You’re testing their commitment to receiving your
information at all. If they can’t be bothered to confirm the
subscription, then maybe they didn't want the information in
the first place!

*2* You are removing the element of doubt that someone else may have deliberately or inadvertently used their email address
to sign up with. Double "Opting-In" means that everything is
nicely confirmed.

*3* You’re removing any possibility (well almost any) of that
prospect complaining to your Internet Service Provider (ISP)
in the future. Or even if they did you’d have evidence that
they really had consented.

So Double "Opt-In" is a nice idea in theory, but sometimes it won't be all that practical.


SINGLE "OPT-IN"

One of the techniques frequently used to gather email addresses
is a Pop-Up box that you might place on your website. This will
invite the person browsing to enter their first name (so you can
personalize your message to them) and their email address. This
is usually done in return for a mini-series of tips and hints or
some kind of free report, frequently followed up by further Ezine Newsletter issues.

Under these circumstances, most marketers would agree that it
would get a little cumbersome to be asking people to reconfirm
their subscription over-again. After all, the average prospect
browsing wants to do things quickly, without being bothered by
additional email messages.

So there’s a balance to be struck between the advantages of
Double "Opt-In" and the speed and efficiency of Single "Opt-In".

Either way at least you will have explicitly received permission
to be marketing to your list, and this will put you miles ahead
of the brain-dead spammers!


AND SPAM EMAIL IS REALLY DEAD!

Let me save you some trouble. If you were ever tempted by an
offer of: "60 million email addresses on one CD for just $49" or
something similar....FORGET IT.

Here’s precisely what will happen to you if you get tempted to
send spam email:


*1* You’ll upset virtually everyone you send your email to and
most likely won’t make any sales.

*2* You’ll be the subject of some pretty vicious reprisals.
Nowadays this probably includes some very disgruntled
individual deliberately sending you a virus.

*3* You’ll find yourself excommunicated from your Internet
Service Provider and searching for a new host.


Oh, and if that doesn’t all sound bad enough, you will have
instantly established yourself with a very unenviable reputation. Your brief online business career will be over.


"OPT-IN" IS HARDER WORK

I often hear people grumble that "Opt-In" is terribly hard work.
And I can’t deny that it takes more time and effort than buying
a CD off-the-shelf with a million ‘unwilling’ recipients.

But done properly, a list of receptive "Opt-In" subscribers will
pay you back time and time again. In short - done right - the
effort will be well worth the return.

So don’t be tempted by "spam" short-cuts, do it properly and
build yourself a good "Opt-In" mailing list.

Why You Should Only Follow One "Guru" At A Time!

If you are out there trying to make money via Internet Marketing
then you are not by any means alone.

There are now tens-of-thousands of folks working part-time,
trying to generate enough income to leave their 9-5 and live off
their online income for good.

But sadly, for most of these people, the reality is that they
will probably scrape by month-by-month, earning the odd commission
check, but never really breaking thru' to the "Online Big Time"!

Now as someone who has been fortunate enough to translate that
ultimate dream of making enough money 'while I sleep', to give up
my day job (if I chose to), I've been troubled about why others
work just as hard as me (or harder) online - but never seem to make
it to the holy grail of internet profits.

So eventually I conducted a piece of research using the responses
from people who have taken my internet marketing mini-course.

And the results were most revealing...


TOO MANY EXPERTS - TOO LITTLE TIME!

Something that I had long suspected and have even experienced
for myself, turns out to be absolutely true.

There is a lot of excellent help and advice available out there
for online marketers.

In fact you don't need to look very far and you'll soon be
stumbling across internet marketing experts that'll tell you
much about important subjects like:

> product creation

> autoresponders

> opt-in lists

> follow-up marketing

> choosing the right pricing

> running affiliate programs

> and so on...and so forth...

BUT, confusingly each and every one of these "experts" sets
themselves up to be an authoritative "guru".

And now suddenly (for the average Joe trying to make a good living
online) the marketplace in advice is overcrowded and *very*
confusing.

Sure, a lot of the available information seems to be very good,
but where should you start and who should you believe?

Worse still...one expert seems to be contradicting the next and
everyone is SHOUTING so loud that you just don't know what to
do for the best (or first).

And the result of all this?

COMPLETE PARALYSIS!

Your online work lacks direction. One minute you're following
guru "A", next you're dipping into guru "B's" advice, but then an
email pops through from guru "S" and what they have to say looks
simply irresistible. Suddenly you are being pulled in so many
directions that you just can't think where to start!


ONE "GURU" AT A TIME PLEASE!

So what should you be doing to build your own successful online
business?

For me (and for those who I have tutored), the answer has been to
select one 'all round expert' to follow. Find a marketing "guru"
who you feel comfortable with. Someone who you've read a little
about and believe can educate you in the rights and wrongs of
online product creation and marketing.

Most importantly, take a look at the writing style of the "guru"
you are thinking of learning from. And ask yourself?

> Is this a writing style that I can understand?

> Does this "guru" have a natural ability to put a lot of
information across to me in a clear and readable fashion?

And most importantly of all...

> Has this so called "guru" really done this for themselves?
Or to put it another way - do they know what they're talking
about?


NOW FOCUS ON THIS ONE PERSON UNTIL
YOU'VE ACHIEVED ONLINE SUCCESS

Having answered the above questions and chosen your expert -
*follow them* until you have become successful yourself.

If you've chosen wisely, then having purchased some of your gurus
information, they won't mind when you come back to ask the
occasional direct question.

For example, I frequently receive emails like:

"Michael, I read what you said about XYZ, but could you point
me in the right direction to achieve this other important
challenge?"

Follow a knowledgeable expert and they won't mind sharing a
little extra information with you.

But, best of all if you concentrate on one person's advice at a
time, you are far more likely to make a success of your own
online business - if only because you won't waste loads of your
time trying out a little bit from everyone, and being pulled in
so many directions that you end up achieving nothing.

Here are 9 low-cost but highly effective marketing tips to
help you boost your sales and profits fast.

Tip #1:
Look for some low-cost ways you can enhance the perceived
value of your product or service. Then test raising your
price. Don't be surprised if both your sales and your profit
margin go up.

Tip #2:
Try to limit your customer's decision making to either "Yes.
I'll buy." or "No. I won't buy". Don't risk losing them by
including "which one" decisions. The more options you offer,
the more likely some customers will procrastinate and never
make the decision ...causing you to lose a sale needlessly.

Tip #3:
You can demonstrate a low cost for your product or service
by breaking down the price to its lowest time increment. For
example, "Enjoy all of this for less than 90 cents a day"
(for something priced at $325 a year).

Tip #4:
Add an unexpected bonus to every sales transaction just
before completing the sale. It prevents customers from
developing any last minute hesitation ...and changing their
minds about buying.

Tip #5:
Print your best small ad on a postcard and mail it to
prospects in your targeted market. Postcards are inexpensive
and easy to use. Most recipients who ignore other types of
advertising will read a brief ad when it's delivered to them
on a postcard.

Tip #6:
Prospects who ask questions are usually close to buying.
Take advantage of this. Don?t just answer their question.
Include a reason for them to buy as part of your answer.
Then ask for the sale ...or tell them exactly what to do to
place their order.

Tip #7:
Collect testimonials from your customers and use them in all
your advertising. Testimonials provide evidence that your
product or service delivers the results you promise. For
maximum impact, use only testimonials that describe specific
results the customer enjoyed.

Tip #8:
Include "benefit rich" headlines on all your web pages. Many
visitors arrive at a web page then immediately click away
...unless something instantly catches their attention.

Tip #9:
Continually test and evaluate everything you use or do to
promote your business. Allocate 80 percent of your
advertising budget to proven promotions. Use the other 20
percent for testing new variations. Most businesses using
this system continue growing - even in highly competitive
markets.

Bonus Tip:
Handle customer complaints quickly and with a positive
attitude. Strive to preserve your relationship with them
instead of your immediate profit from the transaction. They
will reward you with repeat sales and referrals ...instead
of punishing you by telling everybody they know about their
unhappy experience and causing you to lose future customers.

for you to boost your sales and profits quickly. All you
have to do is to put them into action.

Of all the ways that people have invented to sell things
over the Internet, writing free articles to run in ezines is
perhaps the most effective. One great thing about this
method of marketing is that you can do it with NO money. So
if you are just starting your Internet marketing career, put
away the Visa and warm up that keyboard!

Article marketing may be the perfect way to market. It's
free to do. It educates prospects. It gets your message in
front of thousands of interested prospects you would NEVER
reach otherwise. It's viral. Best of all ... it works!

So what is "article marketing" and how can it impact your
world? Glad you asked. ;)

What we call "article marketing" is simply writing
informative articles and having those articles run in
ezines. If that sounds hard, it's not. Let's run the numbers
for a moment.

There are over 300,000 ezines out there. Estimates say that
over 90% of them use free articles in their ezines. That
means there is a HUGE market for your articles, no matter
what you want to write about.

We like to say it this way. From cat food to Katmandu,
there's an ezine out there for everyone. You included.

=====> The Big Picture

The first step is to understand the goal of article
marketing. The goal is to write an informative article and
have it run in as many TARGETED ezines as possible. When
people read the article they see your resource box at the
end of the article, click to your website and buy your
stuff. They learn something, you make money. Simple.

Notice the emphasis on targeted? Please, please, whatever
you do, do not waste an editors time with articles that they
don't need. One of the greatest things about the Directory
of Ezines is that you can use it to find the perfect ezines
for your articles ... fast. Use the DOE, but never spam
editors with articles they can't use.

=====> How to Write the Article

You want to write an informative article about something you
know. Once you chose your subject, here's the magic formula
for writing the article. Five easy steps.

1. Be yourself. Don't try to write like anyone else. Let
your personality shine through.

2. Tell a story. People love to hear an interesting story.

3. Limit yourself to 600 words. This is an ideal length for
most ezines. Format your article to 65 characters per
line with a hard return at the end of each line.

4. Have a clear opening, make three or five points it the
middle, and have a brief conclusion.

5. THIS IS THE BIG ONE. Give the reader a few steps he
or she can take to make your idea work for them. Tell
them what to do first, second, third to accomplish the
task you are writing about.

If the reader can take ACTION based on what you wrote (just
like you can now apply this formula to your writing) you
will have delivered valuable information to them. Do that
and, hopefully, they will keep reading your stuff! ;)

=====> How to Find the Right Ezines

The absolute, 100% effective, surefire way to do this is to
use the Directory of Ezines. Sorry, couldn't resist. ;)

Look for ezines that have these three things. First, the
ezine content matches your article content. Second, the
ezine accepts articles. Third, the reader is someone who
would be a good customer for you. Once you nail down those
basics you have found the perfect market for your articles.

=====> How to Approach the Editor

The BEST way to approach an editor is this.

1. Subscribe to the ezine.
2. Read a few issues.
3. Write a personal note commenting on what you enjoyed
about the issues you read.
4. Offer your article as one that might fit in.
5. Ask to be informed if your article is run.
6. Thank them for their time.
7. Be available if they have questions.

If an editor chooses your article, the odds are they will
run your articles in the future as well. Stay in touch and
you can develop close relationships with literally hundreds
of editors. Remember that each editor represents thousands
of readers that you may never reach any other way. Also
remember that the editor is a busy person. Keep your email
brief.

=====> How to Maximize Your Return on Time Invested

Include a "resource box" at the end of the article. A
resource box is where you sell the reader on going to your
website, subscribing to your ezine, or taking any other
action you want them to take.

Marketing with ezine articles is truly a win-win-win
proposition. The publisher wins because he or she gets
great free articles. The reader wins because your article is
informative and tells them how to accomplish an important
task as easy as 1,2,3. You win because hundreds of thousands
of readers see your selling message at the end of your
article.

All of this with no out-of-pocket costs. Now THAT'S a
beautiful thing!

The Four Laws of Relationship Marketing

To keep from just becoming another commodity, follow the four laws of relationship marketing on a daily basis and watch your sales ... grow!


1. You’re not just closing a sale, but opening a relationship
Closing the sale is only the beginning of the sales process. We are all in business for the long term. The key to continued success is building a solid relationship with our current customers. These are our best customers. In fact, it is six times more expensive to get new customers than it is to persuade our already happy customers to use us again. In addition, if we keep in touch with our customers on a regular basis and treat them like gold our business from referrals will skyrocket.

2. People buy who you are, not what you do.
There are two ultimate reasons why people will want to work with you. It’s because they like you and they trust you. Your character, manners, kindness all play an important role for continued success in a service oriented business. In fact, in an article in USA today titled, "Americans are ruder than ever" it was pointed out that those companies who treated customers with kindness and respect were prospering.

3. You’re not selling, but solving problems.
Your sales success will grow when you take the time to listen to your customers wants and needs and then show them products and services that are best for them. By understanding the difference between features and benefits you will not only solve your customers’ problems, but also insure your success.

Features are about you and your product or service -- what it is.

Benefits are the specific results your product or service offers to your client or prospect -- what it does.

For example, when one travel agency manager understood I had a four-year-old child he immediately focused on resorts with kids programs. When he focused on the benefit of a children-only dinner and the fact that my wife and I could eat in peace, I was sold!

4. Develop "strategic" relationships.
By developing a niche in the travel industry, you can separate yourself from the crowd. For example, Aspen Travel of Jackson Hole, Wyoming tripled their sales in a couple of years by going from a general travel agency to a specialized agency that works with film production companies. Their relationships are so good that all their business is from referrals from one production company to another.


Success is working well with one customer at a time. As Joe Batten said, "Before you tell- ask, before you talk- listen, after you listen- relate, always show that you care. When you can translate that you care … people will want to do business - and then don’t let the details get in the way!"
